Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Still managing cradle cap?

My DS is 10 weeks old and I'm still managing his cradle cap daily. It keeps coming back on his brow, behind his ears and the top of his head. I was wondering if the moms with babies 3-6 months old are still dealing with it? Or does anyone know when I can I expect him to grow out of it?

Thanks!

  • We're just approaching the 3 month mark, but I've had good luck with the Mustela Newborn Shampoo. I use it twice a week and it takes all the flakes off really well.

  • We put a tiny bit of olive oil on my DS head and lightly scrubbed it in with a baby brush. Then we shampooed and rinsed it out really well. We combed his hair with a fine tooth baby comb and it came off in globs. We did it twice like 3 days apart and it h

  • I massaged olive oil into his scalp and then shampooed his hair. A lot of the flakes came off and haven't really returned. I do shampoo his hair more often now and I make sure his head doesn't overheat when he wears his hat. So far, so good.

  • It occasionally flares up in Alexis' hair and I do a couple rounds of baby oil massaged into her hair and it usually clears up.  I hadn't seen it in a long time, but it just flared up again and she is almost 5 months, but I have put the baby oil in a

  • My LO is almost 6 months now and he just has it a little bit on the top of his head. He used to have it all over and on eyebrows and ears. It's cleared up a lot!  Unfortunately we are dealing with an eczema problem now. )c:

  • We're dealing with it too....baby oil works well to control it, but LO H-A-T-E-S baths, so I'm still only bathing her once a week. I'd like to do it more often, but I feel bad stirring her up like that more than once a week.

  • Mustela products for bath time and coconut oil for after bath.    I saw a lot of improvements on my LO's skin.  Give it a try?
