2nd IUI Complete - Not Good

We had our second IUI this weekend. Everything on my end looked great. My lining was at 11 and I had 4 possible follicles. Saturday was pretty great.

MH's count was 200,000 with 100,000 motile.  His count for the next day was 50,000, no live ones. Since last month he only had 2million motile they are referring him to their urologist and we are stopping treatment for now.

We can't afford IVF which I know is what they will suggest. I'm getting older and I kind of feel like our time is running out. By the time he is fixed, if he can be fixed, I will probably not work anymore. Feeling defeated and like maybe we just need to accept the fact that we are only going to have 1 child.  DS is the greatest and we will be fine, it's just hard right now. It feels really, really unfair.

I know I don't post that often anyways, but I may not be around until we get things figured out.

I hope there are some BFP's soon on this board.

    So sorry for the discouraging news.  I hope you are able to get things figured out quickly, so you have time to continue trying, if that's what you choose to do.

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

    4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

    5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

    Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

    August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm! 
    Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

    I'm so sorry you got bad news. Thinking of you. I hope the urologist can help.

    I guess I just wasn't really prepared for this.  MH's original SA's showed low numbers, but right at the cut off for problems.  I really counted on the IUI. Just frustrating and then I'm kind of worried about MH, like

    That's so disappointing. I'm so sorry. I understand that feeling of it being unfair and that struggle of just accepting an only child. I really hope the new Dr. can have some answers for you soon.

    We are dealing with Male-factor infertility also.  There may be something that the urologist can do or suggest that may help your DH, so don't lose hope yet.  Hang in there, I know this is frustrating.

    DD conceived after 3 years of ttc.
    MFI - DH had varicocele repair and took Clomid to get DD b. 02/2010

    TTC #2 since 6/2010
    10/2012 DH diagnosed with Epilepsy
    A few failed IUIs summer 2012 and 2013. 
    DH taking clomid and waiting to see if he needs another vericocele repair. 
    Hoping for a 2015 baby or babies.

    We have MFI too and were all set to do an IUI until his count decreased by two thirds o what it was in the prior SA. Our doc has DH on supplements to improve count and if that doesn't work, we'll try Clomid next. We won't do IVF, so we are hoping IUI is s

    I am so sorry!My RE said SA results can change from day to day depending on several factor. I hope the urologist can give you some better insight! Hugs!

    Thanks everyone.  It is encouraging to hear others experience with this. I hate that anyone else is dealing with it, but I know we aren't alone.  I will hope for the best. (Now hopefully DH has called the urologist, I should go find out.)
