VBAC

VBAC looking less and less like a possibility

I'm 33w, this is my 3rd pg.  My first was a single vaginal birth, no complications, everything went absolutely perfectly other than I needed pitocin because my contractions weren't consistant, some were 2-3 minutes apart, some 5, some 7, and this was hours after my water broke. (and I don't consider that a huge deal).

With my twins, I had to have a c/s because the presenting baby was frank breech, for my OB to deliver twins vaginally both have to be vertex and the presenting baby must be bigger (which he was).  It was a successful delivery with again no complications, as smooth as a c/s could go.

With this pg, the baby has been breech as long as I know (at least since 18w U/S).  I haven't been too worried because I knew there was plenty of time for him to turn.  I have an appt on Saturday, if he hasn't flipped by then we'll schedule a c/s (and cancel if he turns vertex), but as this pg gets further an he's running out of more room, I'm losing hope that he'll flip.  Hopefully next week I can start going to a chiropractor to get him to flip, I've tried doing some exercises at home to no avail.  I'm defiinitely not looking forward to coming home and recovering from a c/s with a 5.5 year old and 3 year old twins.

No real point to this post, hopefully he flips and I can join the VBAC club.

  • That is frustrating.  I have never been in that situation, but I've heard spinning babies is helpful.  Are you and your OB open to a EVC?

  • The Chiro helped me.  I remember when DD flipped too.  Wow, that was an interesting feeling and it was close to the end.  Still ended a CS for other reason.

T&P's coming your way.  I hope you get your Vbac.

  • My DD flipped at 38.5 weeks, unfortunately the wrong way. But my point is that babies can flip later in pregnancy. Good luck!

  • I feel your pain.  I have been avoiding posting an intro here because my baby has been breech for a while and I thought my chances of a VBAC were gone.  Yesterday, at 36W1D our u/s confirmed baby is vertex now.

Even at 34, baby was bree
