Hi ladies. Sorry this got kinda long. TIA for any advice/wisdom.
Background: Married 06/09, TTC #1 since last January. I've always tracked my cycles using FF but I really buckled down with charting and OPKs after 6 months of "let's see what happens." At my annual this January I showed my doctor the print outs of my charts and he said we should do some initial testing. DH's SA results were all good, my 7DPO blood work was all normal aside from a very slightly elevated prolactin level. My doctor said he wasn't concerned about it.
I had an HSG this morning that showed my tubes were clear. The radiologist said my uterus didn't look like what he expected, but it wasn't necessarily abnormal (he thought maybe my bladder was pushing it to the side). He did spend some time checking to see if I had a second cervix (cue mini internal freak out) but nope, one cervix, one uterus, just a little flopped over to the right.
Question: how long did you cramp after your HSG? Apparently my cervix is very narrow so it took a few tries to get the catheter in (ouchie), and I'm still uncomfortable 5+ hours later.
Second question: My OB's office is a medium sized practice that has a sister RE practice. My OB works in both offices, and trained under a well known RE who founded the sister RE clinic. From lurking I know that most of the advice given here is to move on to an RE because OBs don't always have enough info regarding IF. What are your thoughts on this situation (OB vs. RE)?
tl;dr = info in siggy, questions in the last two paragraphs.
Re: Intro + a few questions
I feel your pain. During my HSG, it was difficult for the radiologist to place the catheter in my cervix too. I cramped (mildly) for 12 hours and felt sore the next day. I think it is only a problem if your cramping gets worse/fever/abd pain/bleeding w
