So frustrated & confused!

This morning was my appt with my GYN in regards to my messed up cycles. I kind of got the feeling that he didn't know why I was there. As in, when I left a message about my cycles and the nurse called me back maybe she didn't consult with him before telling me just to make an appt? So anyway I told him what has been going on and he said the only thing to regulate my cycles would be BCP but since I am TTC that wasn't an option. Then he asked what my ART plans are and I told him about considering donor embryos and he asked if I had a sister who would donate eggs or be a surrogate. I said yes, she had offered but that it really weirded MH out. So he starts talking about a patient of his that did it and how he wasn't sure how it would work out but it turned out to be a wonderful thing, blah blah blah, if I want to bring DH in to talk to him about it he would be happy to sit down with us. WTH? There was a NP student with him so maybe he was trying to impress her? (Which, BTW, he would stop and ask her questions and she didn't know the answer to most of them. I wanted to raise my hand, give the answer and say come on you are a medical student and a FEMALE, you should know this!)

Anyway, by this point I'm trying to figure out what the crap is going on. Nothing makes sense and I've lost my train of thought. He said he's not going to do a lot of lab work because he doesn't feel it's necessary but there are a few things he'd like to check. So off to the lab I go and when I get there I read over the tech's shoulder what he's having drawn...CBC, thyroid and HCG. What??? I told him I'd just had my T4 checked in January (by my endocrinologist!) and it was fine. I'm obviously not PG. Why bother with these labs?

As I drive to work I think about everything that was said and I clearly told him my concern is that my cycles appear to be annovulatory. I could care less if I have a period every 10 days if it was still possible to at least have a shot at PG during those days (which of course it isn't). Gosh, maybe because my chances of a surprise BFP are so slim he thinks it's just an inconvenience to have my period so often? So I guess I'm going to wait till the nurse calls back with my lab results to ask about ovulation induction. That'll give me a day or two to see if I actually detect an LH surge this cycle.

I just feel like crying. Do I need to get a medical degree so I can take care of myself? I usually love my GYN and think he is wonderful but today I am just so frustrated with him!!

ETA: I FINALLY got a positive OPK today!  First one since January!

DP, I am sorry you had such a confusing appointment. I completely don't blame you for being confused. Reading what he said to you, I would be crazy confused and upset too!

I wondered if he thinks my ute won't work but then again I mentioned cost being a factor so maybe he went straight to my sis being a surrogate since an insemination would be cheaper than IVF. I just didn't even feel like getting into the whole "it took

If cost were a factor, DE and a surrogate are WAY more expensive than using DEmbryos, and I'm sure you know this.
