Intro!

Hi everybody! DH and I have an amazing son born October 2011. We wanted kids close together, so we started trying February of last year. Nothing. Around the fall, I got a CBEFM and got all highs, no peaks. Last month, I got the opk smiley face thing and I got 2 smiley faces but a week apart. I went to my ob/gyn for my annual, and he ordered CD 21 blood work. My progesterone level was 4, so I had not ovulated. They put me on clomid, and I went back in for CD 21 blood work, and my level was 8.4, which my doctor said was good and pointed out that according to my charts, my progesterone was 15 when I was 6 weeks pregnant with DS. However, looking online everything I read seems to say that 10 is ok for unmedicated cycles, 15 for medicated.

Anyway, I am feeling a little discouraged, but we will see what happens. Just wanted to give a little background.

    5/07 - DD conceived naturally cycle #1

    8/09 - Started TTC #2
    11/10 - BFP!
    12/10 - MC (Chemical Pregnancy)
    2/11 - IUI #1 with clomid & trigger = BFN
    5/11- Switched to a Fertility Specialist, Dx with low progesterone and annovulatory, several rounds of
             clomid = BFN's
    4/12 - Exploratory Lap, Dx Stage III endo
    5/12 - 7/12 - Lupron injections to suppress AF and reduce scar tissue
    8/12 - Surgery to remove tissue, uterus and tubes clear!
    9/12-12/12 - More BFN's!
    1/13 - Referred to an RE
    2/13 - IUI #1 with injects and new RE = BFN
    3/13 - 4/13 - Break due to cysts
    5/13 - IUI #2 with injects (125ml bravelle + trigger) = BFP!!!

    Welcome! I wanted to mention that I had similar low progesterone levels after my daughter was born. I was ovulating, but RE finally figured out it was very weak ovulation and likely not producing mature eggs. Might be something you could talk to your doc

    Two DDs 10/08 and 08/10, no primary IF
    TTC #3 since 10/2011 - dx unexplained/weak ovulation
     3 BFN clomid + TI cycles, 5 BFN clomid/gonal f IUIs, 1 mmc IUI
    2/19/2014 IVF #1 Unexpected low E2 (oversuppressed) -> increased to max doses = 3 or 4 follicles, converting to IUI
    BFFP Saw 1 beautiful heartbeat at 6w6d, follow up u/s at 9w showed mmc. Eff this.
    NTNP 5/2014-9/2014, OPKs and TI 10/2014 - 1/2015. 
    RPL testing all normal, AFC, AMH, and FSH all normal. 
    IVF 1.2 1/22/2014 natural cycle start, AFC 28, 300 gonal f/150menopur. 
    ER 2/3/15 14R 8M 3F w/ICSI Day 5 transfer on 2/8/15 of one "Grade A+" blast and have TWO frosties!

    Welcome to the board!

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

    4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

    5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

    Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

    August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm! 
    Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

    Clomid appears to have helped. Without clomid I would spot from about 5dpo and then have full af start around 13dpo and last 67 days. With clomid I only have experienced spotting 12 and 13dpo before having a normal af. I'm also using progesterone supposit

    Thanks Jen! I was using OPKs to confirm ovulation. After research, I realize now that temping is the only way to confirm ovulation. Well, that and ultrasounds but infertility is not covered under my insurance.

    Welcome! I have read the same things online about progesterone levels medicated vs. unmedicated but found my doctor wasn't nearly as worried about them. You'll find opinions on the importance of those levels varies quite a bit so try not to worry.&nbsp
