Another tantrum question

The other post today made me wonder if any of you are running into this issue: DS would rather throw a fit than attempt to crawl anywhere. I give him time multiple times every day to play in the floor. We have toys scattered all over, and he is fine if he can reach them or roll to them easily. But when something is just beyond his fingertips, he gets so mad. I thought that he might be an early walker and just skip crawling, but that's going nowhere pretty fast, too. He really just wants to spend the day standing with me hanging onto him so he doesn't fall and hurt himself. I know I will regret wishing for him to hurry up and grow, but this stage is killing my back and knees.

Re: Another tantrum question

  • Mine is the same way.  She tries really hard to reach the furthest item from her and when she can't get it she reaches for another item.  She tries to go up on all fours but falls every time.

  • When he's on his belly trying to reach something do you put your hand behind his feet to give him something to push against?  If not that will begin to give him the idea of crawling.

  • My DD did this all the time until she finally started crawling, then it went away.
