Hi I'm currently 12 weeks 4 days pregnant with twins on Saturday went to the bathroom saw bright red blood had that for about 20 min that turned to stringy brown, went straight to the ER. Had blood work, exams and ultrasounds done both babies look great h/b of 178 on both. They released me with no explanation just to follow up with ob on Wed. Since then still have been spooting brown stringy discharge just wondering if anyone else experienced this ? I had a previous loss at 9 weeks and now I'm a complete nervous wreck searching the Internet. Sorry for the vent just needed a little reassurance

Are you on vaginal progesterone? I had spotting and funky discharge when I was. GL and sorry you had a scare.

Have you had sex recently? Brown spotting is usually a sign of old blood. I had some red spotting not that long ago and found out it was due to my uterus being tipped and my cervix being in a weird position.

if the discharge is brown, it means its old blood so its likely from whatever occurred before.

I had bleeding throughout my first trimester.  My docs were never able to find the source or cause of bleeding, but it did go away after 13 weeks.  I was placed on restricted activity (no lifting, no sex, no exercise) until 16 weeks.  I hop
