Baby Names

Does it sound too old?

We don't know what we are having but if we have a girl, my husband LOVES the name Lily (as do I). However I would want to give her a full name of Lillian so her name is more professional as she gets older. Our family middle names are Lynn and Ann, both of which I don't  think  fit well with Lillian. We thought of going with Margaret as it is my great grandmas first name and his grandmas middle name. BUT does Lillian Margaret sound old? Any other middle name suggestions? I've also thought of Lillian Grace..

Help!

Re: Does it sound too old?

  • 1. It does not sound old at all. In fact, all the "Lilly" names are booming right now.

    2. I love it with Margaret

    3. I'm so over Grace as a middle name.

  • My husband's best friend just had a Lillie Grace.

I'm really over Lily...but I cannot stand Grace.  It's become the most generic middle name ever.

  • I can see why you might think it sounds old, but I think that feeling will go away when your little baby arrives. Other mn ideas:

    Lillian Sue

  • Both Lillian Marfaret and Lillian Grace are pretty. I prefer Lillian Grace.

  • Agreed! Lillian is beautiful and Lillian Margaret sounds lovely, not too old at all! Prefer it to Grace, especially with the family significance.

  • I really like it with Margaret!
  • I know a Lillian Grace and a Lillie Grace, both around 2 years old.  But I think it's a beautiful name.  Maybe too popular if you worry about things like that.

  • Both are pretty, but I prefer Lillian Margaret. IMO, it has more character than Lillian Grace (like pps said, Grace is a very popular mn) and I love that Margaret is a family name.
