sick more as a toddler

Liv entered daycare part time (2 or 3 times a week) back in late October. Since then she seems to have the cold a lot. Before turning 1, she had only been sick once and that wasn't even as bad. I work per diem but before daycare she was cared for at home by my aunt.

I am just wondering if this is common for daycare kids. She's been sick with the cold since October...on and off though. We had our first one-ear infection in January which resolved quickly. She was out of daycare for 3 weeks during our vacation and she was recovering from a cold virus she must have gotten on the plane, then she went to daycare last week and she is now sick again. More runny nose, fever, vomiting. Poor thing just can't seem to get a break  I've been thinking about going back to work full time but discouraged about how sick she'll get if and once she is going in 5 days a week!

DD is not in daycare and still has been sick on and off all winter as well.  I think it's just been a really bad cold & flu season. It still sucks though!

It's common. Daycares and preschools are germ factories. Little kids aren't the most hygenic, not covering mouths/noses when the cough/sneeze, not fabulous handwashers after using the restroom or picking their noses. However that said, germs are good for

DS started daycare full time at 1 year. Over the summer he was good, but since October he's been sick off and on as well. I think it's just that time of year!! We had the stomach bug twice, colds off and on, and yesterday he came down with a fever again.

Yes, DC germs run rampant.  But he hasn't gotten anything bad, just sent home with fever a few times.  I was actually feeling lucky since last year he had 5 ear infections, and this year none.
