Baby Names

A few questions...

As of now, the names we are leaning towards are Adair or Arden, but I have a few questions:

1. Which do you prefer?  Any immediate gut reactions/stereotypes for either name?

2. The middle name also begins with an A (Alexandra-family name, pretty much set).  Do you think the alliteration is too much? (we are not using it is a double name, but know we'll say the full name from time to time)

3. Our last name is J***son.  Is the 'n' ending in Arden and J***son too much/matchy?

 Thanks!

Re: A few questions...

  • I like both. They aren't my personal style (I tend to go for frilly and nicknames), but I think they're both sweet and spunky ? great choices!

For me, the flow with the last name would tip me in favor of Adair over Arden. This goes x100 if your J

  • I like Arden a lot! I don't think it's too much with that middle name... I like alliteration. And I think it's fine with your last name.

  • I prefer Arden. I'm not sure why, but Adair just doesn't sound very feminine to me.

I never mind alliteration so Arden Alexandra doesn't bother me. It has a nice flow.

And I don't see a problem with Arden Johnson or Arden Jackson (just two

  • I prefer Adair. It just seems a bit more feminine to me which I tend to lean towards. And I think Adair Alexandra flows nicely.

  • They both sound masculine to me...I have Adair on my boys list. I guess Adair would be the least matchy.

  • 1. I really like both, so I'm no help there.

    2. I don't think the alliteration is too much.

    3. With a -son last name I'd probably go with Adair, because Arden J-son sounds quite matchy, at least matchier than Adair J-son.

  • 1. Which do you prefer? Adair. Arden makes me think of perfume for some reason. It's pretty though, and perfume isn't a bad association.

    2. I don't normally like alliteration, but Arden Alexandra is pretty. I don't particularly like the fl

  • 1. I prefer Arden though I think both are nice.

    2. I am an alliteration fan so it doesn't bother me at all! Arden Alexandra is pretty.

    3. No, I do not think it's too matchy.
