no steady weight gain

My daughter is almost 20 months, she was 5 weeks premature and was 4.6 lbs. She has been small her whole life and gained weight very slowly. At her 18 months appointment she was just in the 5th percentile for weight so her doctor refered her to a nutritionist to see if there is anything we could do to help her gain weight. The nutritionist said her diet looks good and just keeping an eye on her weight. We've been to see her 3 times and I guess I just feel frustrated because she's not giving me anything to do to help, she keeps saying everything looks good. I am not worried about her weight I think she's just small and taking longer to gain weight. I guess I'm just not sure what else to do, keep going to the appointments or stop going knowing that she's doing fine? Thanks for the vent just feeling frustrated about the whole thing.

  • Like PP said, as long as she's sticking to her individual curve, I don't think you need to be worried at all. If the nutritionist isn't telling you anything you don't already know, then I wouldn't keep going. Just keep offering healthy options, good fa
