I have to say, I didn't realize how annoying it can be to go out in public with a huge baby bump until this weekend. Working from home has sheltered me a bit. It's absolutely amazing the amount of unsolicited advice/comments you receive from total strangers. My favorite one this Saturday was from a mother holding a screaming toddler. "Is this your first? Ohhh, well your life is about to change DRASTICALLY!" Ummm, ok lady. Thanks for that sound piece of information. I really hadn't thought about the fact that having a baby might be a life changing experience.

The best one I got was at a St Paddy's day parade this weekend (in line for bathroom with drunk people). She asked how far along I was and when I told her she said "Ugh, I wanted to kill myself at that point, I can't believe your husband dragged you here"
Just this weekend while running errands I started getting the random strangers coming up to me saying "are you going to make it" "oh man, you're ready to pop" "are you sure you should be out at the store right now?!"
Walmart employees are the worst for me. Thry seem to think my life is about to end. One lady told me: "I can tell it's your first because you're still happy." Another was like: "Oh just wait and see what you're in for.." I'm always pretty quick to respond

I just think it's weird how so many people try to engage you in conversation about pregnancy. It never occurs to me when I see a pregnant woman to grill her about whether she will breastfeed or not- lol.
Had my very first stranger comment/touch this weekend (not sure how i've managed to go this long) and I'll be happy if I never have another. A woman at home depot repeated touched my stomach as i'm trying to check out and repeatedly said "hi baby, h
I'm not sure what's more annoying, the unwelcome negative pregnancy comments or advice... Some people are so miserable it seems like, it's like why did you even have kids in the first place!
This being my second I haven't gotten any comments directed at me but elderly women love to talk to DS1 about getting a baby brother/sister. It's always sweet and very uninteresting.
The only comment I've gotten was a male friend I hadn't s
At school I've been getting the "omg! You haven't popped YET?!"
Um, no. I'm actually due the end of NEXT month. Hold your horses peeps. We've done the NICU thing. Not interested in doing that again. At least let me get to full term before wishing I'
Re: I understand now
So far from strangers, all I've been getting is a smile. Sometimes it's an "Aw, sweet!" smile... sometimes it's an "Oh you're in for it..." type.
I've been getting too many rude comments from people I work with.... "Oh, you look tired, are
Sorry girl! Just ignore to the extent possible, not much else that can be done
They'll give you even more comments and advice once baby is here. Everyone and their mother thinks they know what they're talking about.

I've been getting a lot of unsolicited labor horror stories. Why do these women want to try to terrify me with their horrible labor experiences?!
