I had a normal vaginal delivery.( I assume getting stitches is normal any how!) I just read the post "have you done it yet?" and I am a bit concerned because it sounded like every one kinda said the first time after baby it hurt! is that true? and can I use water based lube to help the pain?

I had a c-section and my first time was a little painful. We actually had to stop and try again a different night. Not sure how it would feel for a vag delivery.

Use a lot of lube and go slow!

I had a vag delivery, and my lo is 11 weeks old.  Sex is still a little painful.  Lots of lube, foreplay, and go slow.  Try to stay relaxed, because if you are tense, it hurts more.  A glass of wine prior helps me

I had a vaginal delivery with 2nd degree tear. The first few times weren't pleasant at first, uncomfortable and a little painful. Once things got going, it was much better. It was certainly not a deterrent to try again. Just take it slow.

I had a vaginal delivery and also had a few stitches. It did hurt the first time but nothing unbearable. Just use lots of lube the first few times and you'll be fine. We I'd it after the 6 week appt.

Our first time was awesome! I mean, better than I expected postpartum. We had been ramping up to DTD a few weeks prior to getting the clear, so maybe that helped. Also, 2 glasses of wine go a long way! Vag delivery, 1st degree tear. Good luck!

It was more painful after my c/s with DD than with my 2nd degree tear with DS. Both were just after the 6wk mark. I was a bit sore in my pelvic floor, but nothing bad. Don't  be afraid to let him know if you have to slow down or stop. It gets easier

I'm 11 weeks PP now and my pelvic floor is sore whenever I do something that moves that muscle, not just sex. But it's not enough to dissuade me from having sex. Like PPs have said, going slow, lots of lube, and me controlling how things go helps a lot. <

Our first time DTD after having my son was at about 8 weeks PP and was not painful at all. I had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery with only a small first degree tear. It really all depends on your body..everyone is different. Have a few glasses of wine,
