need advice on sleep issues

my 16mth old twins still don't sttn which I hear is normal. I wouldnt mind getting up a couple of times but lately its been hourly and last night every 40mins. by the time I lay back down the other baby is up and it goes on all night til morning. I'm running on 2-3hrs total sleep and its torture. Im a sahm and taking care of them is awesome all day but with no sleep its brutal! I really don't want to ferber or cio, I"ve read and tried other non cry sleep methods and nothing works. they want to comfort nurse each time they wake up. I'm really starting to think about ferber even though to be honest the thought of letting them cry turns my stomach and I worry about the neg effects it would have on them and our wonderful bond we've built. Since day one I've been sleeping on a futon in their room next to their cribs since for a few reasons having them in my bed just won't work. they do often sleep in the futon one at a time so I could get a little more rest. I really don't know what to do but they need to learn to sleep on their own soon so they have well rested mama and they are well rested. any thoughts, opinions, suggestions are all welcome. TIA

Re: need advice on sleep issues

  • This is around the time I did partial night weaning (Dr. Jay Gordon method).  It won't make things better on day 1, but after a week or so, there was a little improvement.  I suggest considering it.  It won't stop the MOTN wakings for teeth

  • My son is 3.5 , so I might be a little rusty. I always tried motrin and orajel when he was teething, gas drops after feeding and had his paci for him. We took his paci away at 18 months.  I always run his ceiling fan on low and have his "blanket"

  • I did not want to let my sweet baby boy CIO. Like you I tried lots of non crying techniques and nothing worked. I tried from 414 months with no success. He would need me to nurse him back to sleep every time we bedshared. It kept getting worse and worse
