I am just over 21 weeks and was diagnosed with GD around 14 weeks. I had been doing really well with my diet and exercise and was losing weight. My doctor was very happy with this.
My exercise has seriously slacked, I haven't done anything for at least 2-3 weeks as fatigue seems to have found me again. But I was still following my diet and gained a pound a week ago, but then lost a few ounces last week, but my numbers have been bad.
The foods that had been working for me aren't anymore. I am allowed 45 grams of carbs for dinner...just counting the foods that are mainly carbs, I had 39, but if I add up every single gram I had 46, so over by one and my two hour was 132!
I had some 120 two hour readings and a couple 100 fasting readings that my doctor said concerned her and were borderline, so she wanted me to test more often and I've had several days/meals that were even higher than those lately. I see her again in a week....is she going to alter my diet, or will they go right to insulin?
I really hate to go on insulin, but lately it seems like nothing I do works anymore and I am worried that an even stricter diet is going to be really hard to stick with.

Re: Trouble controlling blood sugar
GD gets harder to control as you get further in your pregnancy. I had good control with diet for a few weeks, then my fastings wouldn't come down no matter what I did. I ended up on insulin at bedtime, and things have been better.
