It won't really do anything if you're body isn't already almost ready to go into labor on it's own anyway. If it's going to induce labor, it should do so withing 24ish hours. I've heard some people say it hurts, other say it's NBD.
I had my membranes stripped with DD and started leaking amniotic fluid 36 hours later. I didn't think that it hurt too bad. It was a little worse than a cervical check, but nothing unbearable.

I had mine stripped at 38, 39, and 40 wks with DD and it did nothing (I was induced at 41w1d). I think there is a 50/50 chance of it jump starting labor. It didnt hurt just a little uncomfortable. I don't think there is any harm in tryin

It is no guarantee. With LO1 I had it done on my due date and woke up in labor the next morning. With LO2 I had it done at a little over 39 weeks, again over 40 weeks, and nothing. I was induced later on. It was uncomfortable and made me crampy, but nothi
I had it done last time at 40w and it did nothing. I will try again this time, at my next appt (also 40w) if I'm dilated enough to do it (haven't bothered with internals this time around). I'm not necessarily expecting much, but I'm going to try again sim
I had mine stripped the evening before my due date. I really wasn't showing any of the typical signs of progress in terms of dilation or effacement. My water broke the next morning.

I never did it but I have three friends who have. One of them didnt have her baby until a week later and the other two went into labor hours later. I do plan on trying this time but I doubt it'll work. Oh another friend did it and she started contracting

you know what starts labor? hormones
stripping membranes can just cause cramps. I dont really believe in having them done, but to each their own.
