Callum turns 5 in Dec. Here in NC the K cutoff is September so we hadn't even thought about starting Kindergarten. We are moving to Connecticut this summer - and apparently the K cutoff is Dec. 31. So now we have to decide if we hold him a year or go ahead and start.
Academically he is totally ready and I think he is socially ready although it's hard to know as he hasn't been in a big class (he's in a small in home preschool). I'm not worried about him being the youngest in his class; I always was and it was never a big deal.
What I'm worried about is the complication of the move - that's a big change in and of itself and I'll be working full time for the first time (although with flexible hours and DH will likely SAH for a while or just work nights) so I'm worried starting kindergarten will be too much. I think you can waive out of the start date and I'm sure it would be no biggie to do so.
So just curious....WWYD?

Right now he's only in a half day preschool 3 days a week. He does really love it and asks to go everyday - ha! - but that's still very different from the reality of doing that.
I almost feel like part of the answer will depend on th

I get where you are coming from with concern about moving, here in Germany my DS is in Kindergarten and has been since he was two. His classroom consists of kids up until they leave for what we call 1st grade. German Kindergartens are Monte
