About how long did it take for your LO to sleep longer stretches at night by themselves? I have been holding DD and sleeping with her on the couch bc I had a c section and it was too hard to keep getting up and down every 5 minutes. Last night I put her to sleep alone and the first half of the night she cried every half hour and then it was every hour after that. I am hoping it is just the transition and that she will start sleeping a little better.

DD started sleeping 4 to 5 hours to start the night off when she was about 3 or 4 weeks old. At 5 weeks she slept 7 hours straight. She doesn't do it every night yet, but it's getting pretty consistent.

In the last week, DS has started giving me a 5 hour stretch at night. This will be followed by him waking again in another 2 to 3 hours. He's 4.5 weeks old.

When I went back to work when DS was 8 weeks he was still getting up every 4 hours like clockwork. Slowly it started stretching to 6-8 hrs, then 7-9, and now most nights he STTN or at least from 7-4:30ish. It just comes with time. Are you swaddling? That

Thanks for the responses. I am not looking for more than 2 hr stretches right now. Just can't remember how long it took for DS to get adjusted to sleeping alone. With him we started since day one. I'm afraid she is going to wake him and then ill have two

Around 5 weeks DD started sleeping for a 4.5-5 hour stretch followed by a 3 hour stretch.

DS didn't STTN til he was 13 months old.  DD slept through the night at 3 weeks... because I stopped waking her!

We started sleeping at about 5 hour stretches with one feeding in between at about 5 weeks.
