My DS gags anytime I give him meat...he spits it out and he always looks so traumatized when he gets it in his mouth...he's not a good eater and prefers puffs and bm...how did you get your LO to eat meat?
How do you give him other foods? Mainly pureed, or more like BLW?
I gave Graham grilled chicken as his first meat, and basically just tore off big enough pieces for him to pick up, but tiny enough that if he didn't chew it completely,

He's more BLW than pur?e... I gave him puree was or twice in the beginning..I cut in small pieces and let him lead. He gets it in his mouth then gags and spits it out.
We haven't started yet with DD2, but when DD1 was still a baby we gave her sliced deli meat. Just get the reduced sodium kind. Her favorite is roast beef.
We do BLW. I just give DS a "finger" of meat. At first he sucked and gnawed, now he bites and tears little pieces off with his front teeth. He usually only eats about half a "finger" but it really doesn't concern me at all. He takes whatever he wants/need
What works well for us is slow cooker meat - lean beef boneless ribs cooked w/carrots and potatoes and slow cooked pork barbecue are favorites. We just give him large chunks of the tender meat and he bites off what he wants. LO also likes cassero
She really likes shredded chicken. I don't just specifically give her meat. She eats whatever we are eating so yesterday we had scalloped potatoes and ham and she got her ham that way.
We've done some ground beef... Like beef stroganoff or shepards pie. He loves it and I just feed him little bits on a spoon. He wants to feed himself but he doesn't do we'll with such little pieces of ground beef. He HATES the gerber mea

Even now my DS mainly has meat that is pureed with something else. Every once and awhile I'll break up tiny pieces to give him
Maybe he isn't quite ready for the texture of meats? I'd give it another try in about a week.
First we had eachother.5.27.11
Then we had you.6.16.12
