Does IUI work for anyone?!?!

Hello all,

So DH and I have been TTC x 1 year and I just had my first IUI on 3/1 Clomid Ovidrel.

Sadly, yesterday AF showed up.. I sobbed for about 2 hours. We are going to keep going my OB said he does a max of 4 cycles with Clomid, but I am already getting a sinking feeling about none them working I am a natural pessimist which has plagued me my whole life.

It seems that every blog/forum I look on all the "ticker" have a BFN next to every IUI!!!!

Has IUI worked for anyone??? How many cycles until it took for you?

I know I'm just starting my journey and can't give up yet but literally I go outside and I am SURROUNDED by pregnant women, friends post baby pics/announce pregnancies on Facebook all around me and I am already soooooo discouraged.

I'm so sorry you are feeling so down. I have 2 good friends who are very early in successful IUI cycle, but it can take a few bust cycles. Hugs to you IF sucks.

I had 4 unsuccessful Ivf cycles using DH sperm that we banked just before undergoing chemo. We decided to move onto natural cycle dIUI which was a success first time. I have no fertility issues and idk your diagnosis but don't give up hope!!!!

We feel really lucky and blessed to have gotten a BFP with our first IUI. My RE was very upfront with us about the fact that it doesn't often happen the first time. He wanted us to be prepared to do up to 3 IUIs before moving on to anything else.

We got lucky with IUI #1 for our BFP. I was on my 2nd round of 7.5mg Femara, 5mg Dexamethasone, 75iui Gonal-f injects, and then the hCG trigger.

I also believe that having an HSG done helped as well.

We had success with IUIs twice out of our four total. One was a m/c at 8w and one was a CP, but both resulted in pregnancy. If you don't have major sperm, tubal, or uterine anomalies then IUIs really do have a great success rate.

IUI worked the second time for my sister.  2 failed for me.  But it just depends on what you have as a problem.  I think that you should check with an RE though.

I had success with IUI and clomid. Don't give up keep focused and you should be seeing an RE. Did you have a HSG test done or did your DH have an SA these are things you should have done before you do IUI and clomid. GL

A little more background: Blood work for me was normal. I had an HSG and it came back totally normal. SA was ok (not bad but not prefect, he had just gotten over being sick but OB said ?it still isn?t bad, it?s a normal result?)

I got pregnant on my 4th IUI although it was our first injectable cycle and now have 4 month old twin girls to show for it.  IUI can work, it sometimes just takes the right combo of meds.  Don't give up!

This pregnancy is from my 2nd IUI.  I was on clomid and DH was also taking clomid and ProXeed. He has surgery last August. We were mainly dealing with MFI.
