DD has very specifically requested for months a Rapunzel cake with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider on a boat in the water with pink and purple flowers in her hair.  I was going to make her a plain cake with green (grass) and blue (water) frosting and I bought the Rapunzel and Flynn Rider figures with the boat and serve it with ice cream, but I'm thinking it's not really much of a cake taste wise.  I'm wondering if I make an ice cream cake (cake with ice cream in the middle and frozen whip cream covering it) and put icing on top for the grass and water if that would taste ok.  Which would you go with?

    If you don't make cakes as a regular thing, I would honestly pay someone else to do it. JMO

    It's a family birthday, I enjoy making her cakes, I make them every year.  I'm not a professional, but I can make a cake, I really appreciate home made things and want to continue that for my kids.  I'm just not sure if whip cream and icing tast

    I believe you are right about Baskin Robbins with the whipped and icing... I personally am a huge fan of ice cream cake, so that gets my vote. I love the idea of home made things-- very sweet.
