3rd Trimester

Exercise

Hi everyone,

Random question! I've been doing alot of walking during my pregnancy, but Im noticing that now that I have reached 26wks my weight is starting to add up.  I'm okay with gaining weight becase that is obviously part of this amazing process,  but I don't want to not be HEALTHY about it.  I think there is a real big difference, right? Anyway, I was thinking of adding a light work out to my schedule in addition to my walks (ie, light squats, lunges, bicep curls). I found some good pregnancy workouts on here but alot of people say that you should continue to do whatever you did BEFORE you got pregnant.  Since I havent been working out this whole time,  could it hurt to start now?

OBVIOUSLY, I'm not going to start training for a marathon at this point hahahah, but I wasn't sure if any of you started a light workout further along in your pregnancy and what your experiences were.  Congrats to all of you! :)

Re: Exercise

  • As someone who lifted heavy before getting pregnant, and running 5-10k every few times a week... you have to feel the limits of your body and at this point in time, it is best not to push yourself until you strain. If you feel comfortable lifting some

  • I lifted weights before I got pg and continued my same routine up until 2 days ago. I still lifted heavy, I just didnt push beyond my comfort zone or try anything new. I really just stopped because I felt like it was using up all of my energy. Plus leg
