TTC after 35

Fibroids

Question  when I went in for my 1st exam I found out I had fibroids, the Dr thought he told me but never did,  I asked him if they was a concern but he did not seem to be to concerned about it, I never really got to ask him anything else since we did not hear heart beat and then was looking at DnC.

Does anyone else have fibroids?  Should I be concerend?  I have my post dnc follow up on Monday finally almost a month after the procedure.

I know they are something that women that are in their 30- 40 can get but I am now of course so paranoid it is going to interfere with being pregnant.

Was just curious if others have experience with them.

 Thanks Heather

  • My friend has a smaller fibroid. They are watching it but don't seem too concerned. She has changed her diet to gluten free. I guess that can help with them. I don't remember all the details but wanted to mention it incase you wanted to look into it.
  • From my experiences, and my 2 different doctors, I can tell you what I learned.  We spent 5 years TTC and went through 2 cycles of IvF before finally getting pregnant. I had pretty bad endometriosis and a uterine fibroid.  At that time I was

  • I have had 2 fibroids for at least 9 years. I have delivered 3 healthy children and the fibroids were of no consequence didnt cause any probems withbaby or me. And I did not need any mri. They can see them on ultrasound ususally and determine by placement

  • Depends on the size and location of fibroids. U/S are not the best way to see fibroids. I learned that the hard way. MRI is the way to go. Generally they have to be distorting the shape of your uterus or they have to be inside your uterus to be a problem.

  • Also....The only complication I was warned of after fibroid removal was that I would have to have a c-section if and when I ever get pregnant. Once they cut your uterus, it is weakened so the fear is uterine rupture (which is very rare). It's the same for
