Napping in crib

Should I be trying more to get my almost 6 month old to nap in his crib? He would nap in his swing, but he's starting to out grow it. He also prefers to nap on me and whenever I set him down in his crib he wakes up and cries almost immediately and if he doesn't wake up then he only sleeps for a half hour where he would sleep for at least an hour on me. He sleeps fine for the nanny during the week so I think he just really misses me and DH and doesn't want to be away from us. Has anyone tried anything that works or do we just have to suck it up and let him cry for a bit?

Re: Napping in crib

  • We have started to get DD to nap in other things than her swing since she is 20lbs already. We get her to nap in the PNP in our bedroom most of the time. Then other times we let her sleep on the couch in our travel bassinet. We just use her taggie blanket

  • I would keep attempting to use the crib for naps, so he'll get used to it. It will take some practice and you may have to listen to some fussing, but it's better that he adjusts to it now. His naps may suck for a few days, so hang in there and keep at it!

  • Its really just whatever your comfortable with,  but I love having my DS nap in his crib. Hes been napping in there since 3 months on, when we took him out of the cradle (he never liked his swing anyways, so that helped us decide). I like it because
