switching fron rice to oatmeal

We havw been doing rice cereal for about 8 days now and would like to switch to oatmeal. My doctor said to wait a few days. Does this mean I haveto stop rice for a few says and then introduce formula? Or can I make the switch?

    You can switch now.  The recommendation is to feed the same item for a few days by itself so that if an allergy appears you're sure to know what triggered it.  You know the rice is fine now so you can move on to something else.
