Thought of food makes me sick

6 weeks pregnant and lately I feel sick just thinking about food. Strangely I am craving eating everything im allergic to, its torture!

Also experiencing bloating, light cramps, body aches, breast sensitivity, and diarrhea.

how many of you gals are feeling this way?! Please say im not alone!

Re: Thought of food makes me sick

  • Some days I'll be eating something, then after like 2 bites, I am totally repulsed by it. And it's usually something I love to eat. I've also got cramps, a little bit of bloating, fatigue, nausea, breast tenderness...

    You are not alone.

  • I'm 8 1/2w, but started to feel that way at 5 1/2 minus the diarrhea. I'm starving most the time and nauseous all the time. I hate food, which used to be my fav thing. Saw doctor today and she put me on Zofran because I've lost weight since my 4w appointment. It seems to be helping. Hope you feel better, but it's definitely normal.
  • Same. I'm a vegetarian who is currently repulsed by veggies. Dear lord. Also... i'm considering eating ice cream tomorrow because i'm lactose intolerant and think it may help push me to have my first bowel movement in three days... I'M WITH YOU! bloating galore. i dont even know where my real stomach is at the moment.

  • My ms started when I was around 6wks the last time and sadly it lasted through the 42 weeks I was pregnant. That is the only symptom I remember clearly in the beginning (I am still probably too early to start having symptoms yet, but I pray that I don't this time).
What would help me was eating small, frequent meals throughout the day. I am told protein or carbs are best but maybe that's not true for all. Having crackers next to my bed helped too, I would snack on a few before getting out of bed in the morning.
I hope the nausea doesn't last long and you start feeling better soon

  • You are totally not alone.

Mine started shortly after the 6 week mark.  One morning I was repulsed by my usual cereal and milk for breakfast.  I am now 9 w 3 d and I hate basically anything other than fruits, white bread, orange juice and water.  Meats, fried foods, dairy, cereal, veggies, junk food, etc turns my stomach.  And if I AM having a good day and I THINK I'll do well with my meal, 2-3 bites in and I am done.

I am so sick of it, lol.  Wish I could eat a sensible meal.  With that I still have sore breasts, constipation, some sleepiness (although not too bad compared to others), weird feelings of shakiness (like my blood sugar drops and I just need to sit down), and also moodiness.

Not sure about these cravings or when they are suppose to kick in but all I have is food aversions!

  • At 11w3d I am right there with you. I try to eat small bites ands all snacks every couple of hours. Of course the nausea and getting sick doesn't help either.
  • I'm right there with ya! Just found out that I was pregnant last week, and as excited as my fiancee and I are to have a baby, my stomach has made the last week absolute hell. I can barely eat anything, but I know that I have to eat, I am exhausted pretty much all the time, I feel sick to my stomach almost every day (and nearly all day). Oy! You are definitely not alone, and I'm glad to know that neither am I.
  • I normally love bread, lately I can't even stomach the thought of eating bread. I am hungry but everything I think of to eat sounds gross. I am only at the beginning of my 7th week, I hope this doesn't continue otherwise I will have more weight loss than weight gain.
