Prevacid

My DS has been extremely fussy and gassy for almost 2 weeks now. We went in for his 4 month check up and explained what had been going on. He was diagnosed with reflux at 5 weeks and has been on Zantac ever since. The pedi suggested switching to Prevacid since the Zantac hasn't seemed to be working. We are on day 3 and things have stayed about the same.
2 weeks ago I had the happiest baby and now every day when awake he just seems so miserable. Only happy while being carried up right. And will only sleep if I have him propped up on my arm lying down.
With the sleep regression, reflux, gas, immunization fever, and overall fussiness I'm having a very difficult time. To top it all off DH starts 5, 12 hour nights on Monday!
Anyone else there been thru reflux and transitioning to another medicine??
I'm getting desperate!!
TIA

  • Thanks! We have a hard time getting him to take the medicine so I'm not sure how much he ever actually gets. Any tricks on getting baby to take it?
  • I stick the syringe in the back corner of E's mouth.  Putting it in the side seems to make it harder to spit out.

  • I give him some of the medicine then right away put his pacifier in his mouth. That usually does the trick for my little guy.
