18 Month wont sleep in own crib! Help!!

My LO is 18 months old and for the past month or two he refuses to sleep in his crib. We can put him in there once we've rocked him to sleep but after about and hour or two he will wake up screaming until we put him to bed with us. That's the only way he will sleep through the night if he's in our bed. I don't know what to do with him. I've tried just standing by his crib until he falls back asleep and that don't work. He will just scream until I pick him up  and bring him to bed with me. I'm running out of ideas and we'd really like our bed back to ourselves. PLEASE HELP!!

Ditch the criB and try a floor bed? I think some kids really hate being confined quite so closely by a certain age.

This...DS never slept through the night until we switched him to a very low futon. The crib was a disaster for us. We super baby proofed his room and put a gate in his doorway.
