Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Which formula brand?

Is there any consensus as to which brand of formula might be most acceptable to MOSTLY breastfed babies? I nurse DD when Im with her but I cant pump enough to keep up with her at daycare so she usually gets a couple bottles of formula a week.

Up until now Ive been going through a variety of formula sampless. She will not drink pre mixed or Enfamil Gentlease (shes gassy and refluxy so we tried that one first). Shes okay with the Enfamil Newborn but thats only rec'd to 3 months. So now what do I get?! Some of my friends have rec'd Gerber Goodstart...thoughts? I really dont want to buy one of everything until I find one she'll drink--thats EXPENSIVE! They need to make formula samples like paint samples! haha.

  • I was doing Similac and BM. They gave me Similac samples at the hospital. If you go to their website and sign up they will send you pretty large samples. We just stuck with Similac since it agrees with him.  The samples included the sensitive and reg

  • DS gets one bottle of formula a day and we use Target's version of Similac. It's worked well for us.

  • We use Gerber Gentle (orange) after she rejected any of the Infant formulas. I was going to try Similac Sensitive but the first ingredient was high-fructose corn syrup and it freaked me out. Same w/ Enfamils. I'm sure it's fine, just personal pref

  • We will use Gerber this time. I had surgery last month so we had to supplement at that time. I went with Gerber because it is advertised as the closest to breastmilk. Not sure how true that is but I had the checks so we gave it a try and it seem

  • Gerber Gentle here too. She does great on it and never spits up from it. I actually started by doing liquid then moved to the powder. GL!

  • Not really sure, but you can request sample cans by contacting the formula companies. That may help until you find with one works best for you!
