Snacks....

Ok, I need some different snack ideas.... I feel like I'm giving my LO the same things all the time. He usually gets these snacks...of course not all at once.....boiled eggs, goldfish, homemade cheesy veggie nuggets, Cheerios, graham crackers, puffs, pieces of cheese, pasta with a veggie pur?e as sauce, yogurt..... Can you please tell me what you give your LO as a snack so I can add some things no my rotation... Thanks!!

Re: Snacks....

  • I'm not big on snacks - otherwise DD won't eat lunch or dinner.  But if she does get hungry between meals and ask for something, our go-to is nearly always fruit.  Its not so filling that she'll just pick at dinner later, and she loves it.

  • We also do a lot of fruit. Those small steam packs of veggies are also a lifesaver.

We do cheese cubes, graham crackers, yogurt with a straw through the lid. Target sells these fairly healthy and "natural" fruit strips I let her have sometimes

  • Pita and hummus, at school he had chips and salsa, and apparently loves it. Also pretzels. I steam apples and sprinkle them with cinnamon, and he likes those. Peanut butter on crackers

  • Berries are a big hit with DS. He also loves freeze dried bananas, I get them at Target and are a great on the go snack!

  • Lately she's been loving just plain chickpeas (I even had to order extra at a restaurant cos she ate them all off my salad), which ends up being a little less messy than dipping bread in hummus.

She also loves those stir fry baby corn cobs in a

  • String cheese, fruit, pitas and hummus, veggies...that's about it.  We keep snacks pretty small.  She eats her meals real well and doesn't usually ask for much other than an afternoon snack.

  •  We do cheerios, different kinds of crackers, sliced cheese, yogurt. But we also do strawberries, bananas slices, cut grapes, and cut cherry tomatoes.
