My sleepless monster.

I have been lucky and up until now had a kid that for the most part loves her sleep. Ever since Sunday though, she has been fighting sleep. Monday night she was put in bed at 8 and didn't actually fall asleep until 11:30. It's already impossible for me to get anything done with her and a newborn, and the fits at night really aren't helping.

For the past two days she has also refused to eat dinner. I am huge believer that you can't force a 2 year old to eat things they don't like, you offer it and if they don't eat it, that's their choice. I do try to cook meals I know she will eat, and she usually does great. But last night and tonight she refused to eat two of her favorite meals (chicken and rice with peas, and macaroni and cheese). I was able to get her to take a few bites tonight, and now she is whining because she is hungry, and I am torn. Do I bite my lip and allow her to eat what she wants, teaching her that she doesn't have to eat the meals I make and eventually if she whines enough she'll get what she wants...or do I send her to bed hungry. I know she isn't "starving", she had probably four bites of her food, but I feel terrible listening to her cry like that. I know it is most likely her way to avoid bed for that much longer...WWYD?

My daughter acts the same way sometimes! The beast comes out for a week or so and I have no idea why. Maybe teething? As long as you don't let her get away with not eating your meal every night I'm sure you are fine to give her some bread and cheese or so

We have a rule that DD1 doesn't get "other" food if she doesn't eat her dinner (of course we try to make sure we have at least something that she'll actually eat for dinner).  If she is refusing then crying at night then she is probably just acting o

If she's crying that she's hungry then I'd cut her some slack and give her something
