We did sleep training with our DD, but I can't remember some of the basics and could use your help.
Our son is 4.5 months. He's a fairly terrible napper - only naps 30 -45 minutes at a time before waking up screaming and obviously still tired. Unfortunately, we can't get him back down. Our pediatrician suggested we start sleep training with him, so he will hopefully learn to put sleep cycles together.
If we sleep train for naps, should we plan on staying home/inside for 3-4 days, so that every nap is in his bed? Or can we still do a nap in the stroller/car seat without confusing him?
Should we do sleep training before losing the swaddle? Or will this just result in needing to do it again once he outgrows the swaddle?
We are also transitioning to a new nanny. Should we wait a couple of weeks for our son to bond with her before jumping into sleep training? Or does it really matter?
If we sleep train at nap time, should we also do it at bedtime or just tackle day sleep first and then worry about nighttime once the day time sleep is resolved?
Any other tips for sleep training I may have forgotten?
Thanks!
