This morning when I dropped ds off it was snack time and they were having mini-muffins. When I went to give him a kiss I noticed there were nuts in it and I asked the teacher to give him something different b/c he's only 22 months and I don't want him to have nuts yet.
I just called and asked the director what was going on. I didn't know if the kitchen got the rooms mixed up or if the nutritionist started adding nuts to the menu. Either way, no nuts before 3 please. She said she didn't know and would look into it.
I'm glad they're handling it, but if the nutritionist did it, maybe they need a new one.
Re: Just called daycare
Guess I'm of the "old" school...or rather now the "new" school. Findings now are that the earlier they are introduced the less likely there is an allergy. I don't have a problem with giving nuts to my DC's. They all had them since they were a year old (or could chew them easily). No allergies here...but they don't have allergies to other things either.
I am surprised the nutritionist would add them though...with how determined some people are about their kids ever having nuts. Weird that all of a sudden she started putting in nuts.
