LO unhappy bf'ing and refusing formula

ugh, i don't know where to go from here!

we've been supplementing with formula since LO was 1 week, b/c he wasn't gaining weight. it seems like my milk production just doesn't meet his needs--i've tried all the suggestions for increasing it, but don't seem to be having any luck. he's usually on the b00b for 5-10 minutes, and then gets frustrated and starts fussing--clawing at me, clamping on the nipple and pulling it around (ouch!), unlatching and relatching. i usually switch breasts a few times per feeding to get him as much as i can, and then offer 2oz of formula.

he had been gradually drinking less of the formula, which i figured meant he was starting to get more milk from me. but the last 2 days, he's been drinking almost no formula--but still getting frustrated while nursing and then acting hungry afterward! i'm just not sure what to do--it seems clear he's still not getting enough breastmilk, and he doesn't want the formula, so now what?

i've tried explaining to him that i have just the 2 b00bs to offer him, so if they're not cutting it, he needs to drink the formula, but no luck.

Have you seen a LC? The symptoms you're describing sound more like gas pains, and maybe not a low supply.&nbsp
