It wasn't too bad for me but I don't think that is normal. I think my body decided to stop making milk so after my last pump, I was fine. I don't think I even leaked. I was gradually pumping less and less until I decided to only pump to relieve the pain.
i weaned VERY slowly so there was no pain and they were back to normal in a day or two. ?i went from 8 pumps (20 min) to 8 pumps (15 min) to 7 pumps (15 min) to 7 pumps (10 min) to 6 pumps (10 min)....and stayed at each change for 3 days till my body adjusted. FWIW i was pumping 80 oz a day...so i knew that i had to take it slow or i might explode like an overripe tomato. ?HTH
It took me about 5 days if I remember correctly...for the pain to go away. It was about a week for me before they were more normal and they're still not normal. Cold cabbage leaves really helped me.

I just stopped a couple weeks ago. I weaned really slowly too and although, I'm not in pain (unless I lie on my tummy), my breasts are hard and leak. Someone here suggested I wear a tight sports bra and that's helped.
I stopped cold turkey 3 1/2 weeks ago. I was in horrible pain the first two days, minor pain for the next three. I took benadryl the first 3 days b/c I was told it would help to dry me up and help with the pain. I'm not in pain anymore, but I still leak quite a bit if I don't wear a bra.
I also weaned very very slowly and haven't had any pain at all. I took about a month to do it slowly and it's been a week since my last pump and the only thing I've noticed is that the boobs have gotten smaller. They will probably go back down to their minus A size.

Good luck!
