I am not a preemie mom, so I truly hope that I am not offending anyone by posting here. However, my son is dealing with silent aspiration due to delayed swallowing abilities and the SLP and GI say that this is much more common in preemies, so I thought that perhaps I might find some assistance here. Is anyone dealing with aspiration and having to thicken formula or BM to honey consistency? We are also dealing with uncontrolled reflux, which I think is the major contributor to our swallowing issues. We just started on 10mg of Prilosec 7 days ago and are seeing minor improvement and started thickening yesterday, which definitely seems to be helping with our feeding aversions. However, I'm having a really hard time getting the right nipple size for the thickness and figuring out the best way to mix formula and cereal without it clumping, etc. I thought it might be worth a post here to see if anyone else was dealing with these issues and might be able to offer advice. Again, I apologize if I am stepping on any toes by posting here and not being a preemie mom, but I would love some support and advice from anyone who might have issues similar to my son. Thanks!

Re: Aspiration and Reflux
We are in the early phases. DD has trouble swallowing and they think she might be silently aspirating but it's a little too early for a swallow study test right now. We have chatted with our nurse about thickening and she mentioned that the flakes are
