DD had her first "real" session yesterday on the horse. Everything was going fine - she transitioned very well, allowed the PT to hold her, was doing really well on the horse, even let go of the PT and held onto the handle bar. Then, 5 minutes into it, the horse shook because he was wet from the earlier rain. Well, DD basically jumped out of her skin and was a mess - poor girl was so scared and upset. We stopped the session and went inside to play because once she is this upset, it takes her a very long time to calm her nerves. I'm really nervous that DD won't go on the horse again because of this. Has this happened to anyone else and did your LO take to the horse again? we REALLY want this to work - we feel like it's EXACTLY what she needs now to improve her core, balance and confidence which will get her walking.
