Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Nightmares-

I'm pretty sure that LO has been having nightmares randomly over the past few weeks. I read up on night terrors and nightmares and I'm pretty sure they are not night terrors. I plan on talking to the pedi about it and seeing what they have to say. Anyone else have any experience with this?

  • I just mentioned this in the "Post Sleep Tantrums" post below. My DS has episodes about twice a month that I believe are nightmares. It's usually a ragged kind of screaming that tips me off and he usually doesn't want comfort. I find the best thing to do

  • DD gets this - or at least really strong dreams.  I think it's a pretty normal part of cognitive development in kids, and we just have to help them learn to understand and handle the strong emotions that come out of it.

  • The pedi said to start a food and activity journal to see if I can find any connection to the nightmares. I told her that diet and routine haven't changed, so the pedi is hoping that in another few weeks she will grow out of the phase she is in. She said
  • Our LO is 16 1/2 months and for several months now, he has been waking up about 2-3 hours after going to bed, crying/screaming, sitting up or sometimes standing, but about 15-20 seconds later, he sits back down and cuddles up with his blanket and goes
