XP: from 12-24 months

Hello Everyone,

 Just wondering if anyone is experiencing post nap or sleep tantrums.  My lo takes a 2-3 hour naps everyday and sleeps roughly 11 hours a night.  This doesn't happen every time she wakes up, but it is becoming more and more frequent.  She will wake up and start crying.  We go in to get her and she is irate.  She won't let us pick her up and will start kicking and hitting.  If we do manage to get her downstairs she will run around aimlessly while screaming.  This also happens after naps.  It takes her 20-40 minutes to calm down.  Sometimes we try to leave her in her crib to sort herself out, but she ends up climbing out (a new thing) and destroying her bedroom (books on floor, dolls smashed against walls).  Yet when we try to console her she wants NONE of it.  I am close to taking her into the pediatrician to see if she is having sleeping troubles or what.  No clue.  Any ideas what could be causing this?  We're also going to turn her crib into a toddler bed now that she knows how to climb out.  She is 23 months.
