Parenting after 35

PT can still suck it!

Following Stever's lead.....

C just ain't playing along with the rest of the team.  No amount of sticker charts/rewards etc is inspiring this boy.. especially when it comes to #2.  Sigh.  And by the smell of it, I need to go deal with another poopy diaper right now. Ugh.

Oh, and while I'm at it.. Daylight Saving Time can suck it, too.  C was up no less than 5 or 6 times the other night and refused to nap.   Tired and cranky is no way to go through life, son.

And to top it off, for the first time ever, I resorted to a swat on the butt yesterday.  Scared the bejesus out of him, but it sure got his attention.  He's been a holy terror lately and Mom had had enough of his nonsense.   I feel awful.

Can I get a large Timmies, Irish style, with a big ole' bag of TimBits, too?  :)

Re: PT can still suck it!

  • Awww... sorry BrideBuddies.

I wish I had advice for you but with A, it was just like one day he only would poop in a diaper (and in a corner) and the next minute he said he had to go, and I put him on the toilet and he went.

I hope things click for C soon.

And daylight savings sucks... A went to bed after 9 last night.

  • Boo, but I'm right there with you. We'll have a run of good days where he pees and poops in the potty, then days like yesterday where he hid in his closet to poop then lied about it when I aked him.

     I don't get it!

Oh, and re DLS, I was worried my little night owl would be up til midnight but seems to have stuck to his falling asleep at ten schedule.

Hang in there, Stever and BB! It's so worth it!  And to help you, I have found there is nothing better than a little ice cream.... https://www.purpledooricecream.com/flavors/flavor.php?flavorid=17.   The extra flavoring is therapeutic for moms under stress.

  • Each child responds to a different incentive.  Stickers did nothing for daughter #1.  For her, it was all about M&Ms.  For daughter #2, it was the sticker chart all the wway.  Regular stickers for #1 and fancy, glittery, big princess stickers for #2.   MY LO is only 2 so I am not trying to potty train yet.  Maybe you just haven't found the right incentive for your little guy yet?  Good luck.
  • I am lurking and normally don?t post because I am not 35, although DH is 40 lol, but my pedi gave me the BEST advice at DD?s three-year appointment. She said to put her panties in the drawer and tell her your pretty panties are here for when you are ready just let me know when you want them that is it don?t mention it again for 4 to 6 weeks she said she was guessing DD would bring it up before then. Success three weeks to the day later dd said I have to go potty and she has been going to the potty during the day ever since (two weeks now) no accidents other than nap and night. It just had to be on her terms. She does not even ask for stickers when she goes, we had been doing the sticker reward method. BTW she does both on the potty
