As an bi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-faith family, its important that my daughters name is racially and cultural ambiguous. How's Aaliyah? Background: Our sons name is Zachariah.

I think it's pretty. I just had to think about it before pronouncing it. I've met an Aliyana and loved the name, so it's kind of similar.

Aaliyah is really beautiful but it's pretty clearly an Arabic name, so I wouldn't call it ambiguous.

I think it's pretty. I do automatically think of the singer though.

I was thinking this too.  

To me culturally ambiguous names are names like Anna, Maria, Claire.  Those are names you see in many different cultures.

FWIW, I do like Aaliyah.
