Making a stand against POAS

Last cycle I was ridiculous with my POAS addiction. I went through ten hpts, and of course was BFN. Ugh! So this cycle, I am really going to try to be strong and wait until 14dpo to test (I'm 2dpo right now). I don't know if I will be able to pull it off, but I really want to try. Anyone else in the 2ww want to make a stand this cycle? We can help each other stay strong!

Me: 42. DH: 46.

1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm! 
Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
Baby is due 4/26/14

    I'm also in the 2ww (5 dpo) and I'm not testing either. I've only POAS once in the 2 years +  that we've been trying and that was only because I was 99% sure I was going to get a BFP.(I was wrong). I just can't handle the disappointment, so I wait for AF to arrive.

    ME!  I am 3dpiui today and already obsessing.  I need to relax.  I started testing last cycle at 10dpiui and it was so disappointing.  One day I tested 5 times!  It's a problem.  I told myself I will hold out until 12dp this time, but even that will be hard for me.  Good luck to you!

    I remember someone suggesting on thebump to pee on a used stick instead of a new one...you know, just to get the urge out. It's like when you put tons of stuff in your basket while doing online shopping but don't end up actually buying any of it. ;)  GL

    This is me.  I try so hard not to test...usually wait for af.  However, I have tested multiple times after getting a BFN because my cycle was an extra 14 or more days long.  Both times it was just too much stress.  I hate that BFN!

    DD conceived after 3 years of ttc.
    MFI - DH had varicocele repair and took Clomid to get DD b. 02/2010

    TTC #2 since 6/2010
    10/2012 DH diagnosed with Epilepsy
    A few failed IUIs summer 2012 and 2013. 
    DH taking clomid and waiting to see if he needs another vericocele repair. 
    Hoping for a 2015 baby or babies. 
    Wishing, hoping, waiting.

    Its funny, before treatments I was a notorious early tester. But now, I have forced myself to wait every time. It's been good for me I think. Plus, I'm running out of my stash and I'm cheap and don't want to have to fork out big bucks to see BFN's.

    DX: Low AMH 1.79 Mildly elevated FSH 9.9

    1 month of Letrozole, 3 IUI's with Letrozole, All BFN. 1 canceled IVF cycle, BFN.


    May 2013 IVF w/ICSI #1.5: Start BCP 5/8 2 pills a day. Suppression Ultrasound 5/29. Begin Dexamethasone & Lupron Microdose 5/31. Started Gonal F and Menopur 6/2.


    ER 6/12 13R,9M,8F.


    5DT CANCELLED due to moderate OHSS


    5DT UNcancelled due to embryos not being capable of cryopreservation


    Transfered 2 "poor quality" embryo's on 6/17

    No frozen embryos.


    Beta #1 6/25 6. Chemical Pregnancy confirmed. Beta #2 6/28 -1

    Good luck. I'd hold out. I hate POAS bc I've had far too many negatives in my life. I dread testing day and always wait until my BETA for results.

    I wish I was stronger too. I usually Poas way too much but recently I've calmed down a bit. I feel like today might be O with these cramps. I hope I can hold out and not go crazy testing. I buy my tests at the dollar store but I do have a few left over at home. Good luck not testing

    Good Luck!  I am officially in the 2WW.  I can't help it.  I will start testing out my trigger in a few days and I will POAS probably every day.  I have wondfos so I tell myself it's ok to test since the strips are so cheap.

    Thanks, ladies!  I did soften up a little and decide I would test at 13dpiui, since 14dpiui falls on a Saturday.  That way, if it's bfp, I can get in for a beta without having to wait for Monday.  That would kill me!  If I'm spotting at all though, I will probably skip testing altogether as that generally turns into AF. 

    FX for all of us in the dreaded 2ww....

    I never thought that I would obsess over POAS! I'm on my 2ww (6dp5dt) and my Beta is scheduled for Monday 3/18/13. I am going to try my best to hold out. I really want to do a digital test this Sunday! Sooo hard!!!!
