We got our helmet!! PIP

We got our helmet and we couldn't ask for it go any better than it has!  He sleeps fine in it and he never fusses over it one bit.  If you are deciding whether or not to get one I say go for it!  He has had it for around 3 weeks and we can already tell a difference!

  • Super cute!
  • Love those pictures! And I agree..while DS took awhile to get used to it thanks to his sensitive skin, he's had it almost 4 months now and the difference is amazing. We hope to be out of it by Easter!

  • oh my how cute!!!

Ladies with LOs with helmets was the flat spot on the top part of the hed? I ask bc I have noticed DD has a slight flat spot on the bottom. I brought it up at the 6m visit and pedi said the top was perfectly curved and with her sitting etc it would get better. He also said he wouldnt recommend a helmet bc of here it was and how slight. I am wondering should I go see a specialist, wdyt?

    TIA!

To PP - the helmets are to correct the flattening of the head that sometimes occurs when babies are consistently laid on their backs to sleep. (short version).

To olsentobe - our flat spot was in the back off to one side. It was affecting the position of her ear on that side and was very very noticeable.  You can get a second opinion if it bothers you. We waited from 3-6 months hoping ours would get better with her sitting and it never did so we bit the bullet.

Thank you. Your DD is adorable!

  • I actually have a a visit with a specialist today for my 6 month old. Just curious, did they say how long they need to wear em?

  • They wouldn't give us a time frame.  He just said he will wear it as long as he needs to.  I think it can vary so much from baby to baby depending on how old they are and how severe it is.  I think average is 4-6 months but it can be shorter or longer too!
