Oh, DD-your taste in music is awesome

So, as usual, I'm losing my voice singing Twinkle Twinkle on the commute last night (we have about 30-45 minutes).  I try XM Kids, Escape, anything with a fun rhythm or relaxing on the radio.  No doing-we are not happy.  I give up and turn to my favorite station-Ethel, now called alt nation, who else was all confused when your XM stations changed this morning????- and it's the Offspring so I just turn it up to jam, and Kat goes instantly quiet.  Then some Weezer, and some Muse.  She just clutches her lovey and stares in the mirror, completely in the zone.

  • we got new stations on XM today, courtesy of the merger with sirius.  i, for one, am stoked about radio margaritaville & the elvis channel.

  • Coldplay almost always calms my DS down. It's one of my DH favorite bands. Me not so much.

My DS was fussy while we were at a friends house watching grey's. A commercial came on with a Coldplay song he was like "huh, this sounds familiar? " No more crying. Needless to say I have their cd in my car in, downstairs and upstairs.

  • I am ALSO stoked about Radio Margaritaville.  I will be adding XM 55 to my presets today.  I also discovered XM39-which seems to be an ALL Led Zepplin channel.

On a not so fun note, Respect the Turkey is lacking on XM.  Holly started today.  I was flipping through and caught Paul McCartney simply having a wonderful christmas time.

and then i got to work the the hershey kisses we wish you a merry xmas commercial was on.  BAH!

i saw that holly is there.  i about died.  i hate lack of respect for the turkey.

  • looks like we need to hook up your baby kat with my DS -- they both have great taste in music!

  • Offspring, Weezer and Muse?  I approve!  I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that I play the alternative rock station in Philly so often (radio 104.5) in my car that she will like the same music when she comes out.

  • mamamoos-they both seem to be tongue sticker outers too.  i try to get Kat to make the "rock n roll" hand gesture when she's got her gene simmons tongue going.   it's so much awsum. :)

geek-she really does seem to recognize the music i played when she was in the womb.  offspring was a staple, and also queen.  Her lullabyes are We are the Champions and Bohemian Rhapsody.

  • AWESOME.

i hope dd loves weezer and muse.  that would make her the coolest baby EVER.

  • I have Sirius and was all confused this morning when Howard was on commercial and I was flipping through the channels.  I listen to Octane (hard rock) and Lithium (90s alternative and grunge) all the time with DD in the car.  No wussie kids music here.  I would go insane.  LOL
