10 months after weaning- still producing!

My daughter will be two in May, and she weaned herself around her first birthday. However I am STILL producing what seems to be both milk and colostrum! I haven't pumped, and they've gone down in terms of swelling like they were when we were BFing, but if I express they still squirt, and sometimes when she really cries (like all this week, she's been really sick) they get engorged and occasionally leak. I feel like this is an unusually long time to still be producing after weaning. How long after you weaned did your boobs calm down?

Re: 10 months after weaning- still producing!

  • My ds1 turned one in early October andI wweaned from pumping in November. In March I was still leaking occasionally. I was also pregnant so I asked my OB and she said totally normal. If you are concerned, call your provider and ask. Could be completely normal or maybe your hormones are off a little.
