2nd Trimester

Opinions please: return gap pants or try to shrink.

Whaddayall think?  I'll probably get them hemmed anyway if I keep them so I'd rather not spend the money to do that if they're going to be too big cause won't end up wearing them...

If you suggest shrink, I'm going to need advice on how to do that.

  • I think they look good, but if I wasn't happy, I'd send them back instead of shrinking...

  • None of my gap pants have shrunk in the wash, I suggest return for different size
  • Keep them.  You are only going to get bigger.  Even if they are a little big now you will be happy you have them in a couple weeks.

I had ordered some large pants a few months back.  I was too lazy to return them and now they are all that fits!  LOL!

  • Keep them, you have along time to go yet and alot more room to grow into them.  If you want to shrink them just wash them and put them in the dryer.  It should work if they are 100% cotton and not pre-shrunk.

I don't think that they look sacky either,  I think that they look cute.

  • They fit fine in the waist and aside from being too long they're comfortable...I just feel like a hobo because they give me no shape whatsoever.

  • I'm wearing those pants right now! I usually an 8 and I bought a 6 in those (and they're still a tiny bit baggier than I'd usually wear, but I think it's just the cut of the leg). I remember when I picked them up that I thought they'd be too small, but I liked them so tried anyway.

I'd say take them back for another size if you're not happy with them.

  • I like them!  But if they feel too big give them a few more weeks.  I had some pants that fit like that and  I returned them.  Well I had to go pants shopping this weekend b/c I was miserable in my mat pants I bought at 18 wks.  LOL  You look cute BTW!

  • I am thinking that the style of the pant may bethe Gap "wide leg" which means that is how they are supposed to fit. They look ok - unless you do not like that style.

If you are unhappy with them, I would send them back instead of trying to shrink them. If it doesn't work you will be stuck with them and still unable to use them!

  • Honestly I don't think they look that big. I think you look good in them, but as an fyi I worked at old navy in high school, which you probably know is a part of gap. Their clothes are only designed to shrink about a quarter inch in the leg and not really anywhere else. I would say keep them because they look good but if it is either return or shrink then go with returning.

  • I agree - keep 'em. I have the same pants and felt frumpy in them when I first tried them on too. But once they were de-wrinkled (note, I didn't say ironed... i despise ironing) they seemed less so. And they are awfully comfortable.
  • By the way, how 'bout those sexy *** shoes!

Oh, yeah, the pants look good to me, but it's all about your comfort.

  • I think they are cute.  Your bootie will prob fill them out by the end of 3rd tri, and they will prob shrink a little too.  But I think they look fabulous on you - if they aren't wide leg - they have that look - and I love that!
  • Keep them!!! ?You may appreciate the extra room in the coming weeks!
  • I think they look good like that. I'd just get them hemmed. At this point, I don't want anything clinging to me. I think having them a little big is very flattering on you.
