DD spilled water on my laptop yesterday. Letting it dry out before I try turning it back on. : If it doesn't turn on it looks like a trip to the geek squad for me. Really hoping I can get it working again, a new computer is NOT in the budget right now

Put it in a big plastic tote with a crap ton of rice. It'll help soak up the moisture. Sorry, friend. I'd be piiiiiiissed.

Thanks. Going to try the rice trick. I was super pissed at first bc I have tried to tell her about 375,000 times not to touch the laptop or our glasses of water. She understands not to touch stuff that's hot but she's obsessed with water. But in the end it's my own fault bc I should have moved the computer to somewhere she couldn't reach before I left the room. Wahh...

My hubby is an IT... he says if it does not boot up Geek Squad will not be able to help you.  If it wont boot it probably wont work and if you want your stuff off of it you will have to take it to a data recovery place (geek squad doesn't do data recovery).

 

My fingers are crossed that all the tricks to dry it out work!!  Good luck!

Fingers crossed for you!! I completely understand, except for my so brought a stray dog in and spilled my drink in my mouse pad and that doesn't work. So this time around he bought insurance for two years in case of anything it covers, spills, drops everything!! : good luck to you and hope your laptop works!!
