Babies: 6 - 9 Months

WWYD?

I was just at the grocery store, and noticed a baby who was way to big for his infant car seat.  His head was over the top of it!  I wanted so badly to say something to the mother, but couldn't think of a polite way to educate her while not making her feel defensive.  Maybe she just doesn't have the money for a new one, and I hate to make someone feel bad, but I can't help but worry for that baby's sake.  What would you have done?

  • I would NOT have said anything.  I would have thought many things in my head though.

I have seen this a few times and it blows my mind, however, I do not feel like it is my job to say something.  Chances are, she knows.  You would have to be pretty oblivious to not be able to figure it out, even if you were not educated about it...

  • I probably wouldn't have said anything. Maybe if we were waiting in line behind each other I might have struck up a conversation. You know...what a cute baby! isn't it crazy how fast they grow! It's hard to keep up!

It's indirect, but it's the farthest I'd go if I said anything at all.

  • I wouldn't say anything. You're right to be worried for her child, but again, it's HER child. I'm sure she can see her baby is too long for the carseat if you noticed it right away.
