So I know this type of question gets asked ALL THE TIME, but I am at a loss. Currently we have a b safe and love it. I am starting to look for our next seat and am at a loss because of DD's size. She is 6 months next week, 13.5 lbs and 28 inches.
I have put a RXT in my car and it will work. Is this the only option based on her size? What other seats should I be looking at? My goal would be to have the seat I buy last her until booster age. I also would want to be able to get another seat in as we hope to TTC soon and may have 2-3 kids in convertibles at the same time.
Re: 2012 outback ISO convertable seat
My 51" tall 6.5 yo still fits in the Graco MySize70. I was surprised because she outgrew every other convertible seat on the market over a year ago. Right now DD2 is riding in it rear facing. She's approx 33 lbs and 38".
I've also heard good things about the Chico NextFit. It's supposed to be about the same size.
There's also the Clek Foonf if you have the $$. It's about a $400 seat, so it wasn't in our budget.

I have the Clek Foonf for my 33.5" 12 month old. It's a great seat, great fit for him and it's built like a tank, however, in a smaller car, I don't think it will work well to rear face. In RF position, it is tall and takes up a lot of forward space. I have it in a Honda Element with no issue but it's laughable to think that it would fit in my husband's Ford Focus rear facing.
I will say that with a tall child, it is generally advised to stay away from Britax seats since they tend to have shorter shells so taller kids will outgrow them quickly or just not fit well. We had a Marathon that was a terrible fit for my son and we ended up selling it to a friend.
